As promised in its electoral manifesto, the Government has initiated eco-contribution reform.
In terms of the Budget 2015, “the Government is committed to reform the eco-contribution mechanism so that local businesses compete on a level playing field with foreign ones. The first phase of the reform will entail eliminating eco-contribution on electronic and white goods classified as WEEE items, by September 2015”.
The eco-contribution on electrical and electronic equipment is being removed as from the 1st of September 2015.
